Position Summary

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Bilingual Father Engagement Coordinator/Community Educator helps parents and caregivers gain the knowledge and skills required to raise emotionally, psychologically and physically healthy children. The work will take place at The Mom & Dad Project, in schools, childcare centers, churches and other providers of family support care.The Bilingual Father Engagement Coordinator/Community Educator must possess strong verbal and written communication skills to thrive in the job. Active listening and speaking skills to counsel parents in a clear and understandable manner is a must. Must be able to read, write and speak Spanish and English.

Essential Duties

The Bilingual Father Engagement Coordinator/Community Educator needs planning skills to develop sound work schedules and analytical skills to assess the effectiveness of their instructional strategies. The Bilingual Father Engagement Coordinator/Community Educator needs good problem-solving, with the ability to establish positive relationships with people from various cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

  • Provide professional parent instruction and delivery of information to local families in English and Spanish. Implementing curriculum provided by the Program Director.
  • Facilitate weekly Nurturing Father/Nurturing Parenting Classes
  • Facilitate Case Management sessions with clients and monitors FDM progression.
  • Coordinate services with other community programs with similar purposes.
  • Support and enhance the existing Mom & Dad Project program.
  • Comply with all funder reporting requirements.
  • Recruit/retain potential clients for services at The Mom & Dad Project.
  • Arranges for display of brochures and calendars throughout the community.
  • Arranges for and man’s booths at various community events.
  • Manages and responds to all emails generated through the Mom & Dad Project Website.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Education (or substitute experience) Required:

  • High School or equivalent.
  • College degree in related field preferred.

Education Preferred

  • College degree in related field preferred.

Minimum Experience Required

  • Demonstrated ability to work with adults and their young children.
  • 2+ years of facilitating groups.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literacy in Microsoft Office.
  • Demonstrated ability to instruct adult learners in an environment that is most conducive to their learning styles.

Experience Preferred

  • Certified in Nurturing Parenting

Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish/English (Speaks, reads and writes in English and Spanish)
  • Demonstrated ability to work with adults and their young children.
