    Community Vaccine Clinic Offered 2/18 and 2/19

    Bear Valley Community Hospital will be offering public COVID-19 Vaccination clinics.  Vaccinations will be offered by appointment only.  You must qualify for a vaccination under the current San Bernardino County guidelines (see below for details) in order to register for an appointment.  You must be a resident of Big Bear and/or work in the Big Bear Valley, be 65 years old, or older, or in an eligible job category, to receive a vaccine.  There is no cost to receive a vaccine.  Valid photo Identification, Proof of Residency and/or job ID badge will be verified.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your appointment time in order to complete our check in process.

    BVCHD is offering the Pfizer Vaccine.  This is a two series dose.  Your second dose will be scheduled after you receive your first dose.

     If you have questions about if you should receive the vaccine due to your personal health condition you should consult with your primary care provider before registering for an appointment.

    Please be prepared for wait times.  There may be wait times to receive your vaccine and you must remain on site after receiving the vaccine for up to 30 minutes.  This will not be a quick process, please plan your time accordingly.

    Additional vaccination clinics may be held as vaccinations are supplied to the hospital.

    Pre-Vaccination Checklist for COVID-19 Vaccines

     When you arrive on site please pull into the parking lot, remain in your car and turn your radio station to 96.9 for instructions.

     If you are feeling sick, are experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19, have an elevated temperature, or currently have COVID-19 do not register for an appointment.  You will be screened for symptoms and your temperature will be checked before you receive the vaccine.

    Registrations and appointments are currently available for Big Bear Lake and Big Bear City residents who are 65 years old and older and front-line health care workers that are covered under Phase 1A, Tier 1-3 who live and/or work within the Big Bear Valley. Do NOT attempt to register if you do not meet this qualification.  Please see the information below to determine if you qualify to receive a vaccination at this time.

    Proof of residency in Big Bear, valid state issued photo identification, and work Identification badge (if under age 65) will be verified.

     Phase 1A

    Age 65 and older who live in Big Bear Valley

    Tier1

    • Acute care, psychiatric (mental health providers, substance use providers) and correctional facility hospitals
    • Skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities and similar settings for older or medically vulnerable individuals
    • Paramedics, EMTs, EMS First Responders, ski patrol responders and others providing emergency medical services
    • Dialysis Centers

    Tier 2

    • Intermediate care, for persons who need non-continuous nursing supervision and supportive care
    • Home Health care and in-home supportive services
    • Community Health workers
    • Mental health and substance use disorder services
    • Public Health Field Staff
    • Primary Care clinics including FQHCs, Rural Health Centers, correctional facility clinics, urgent care clinics

    Tier 3

    • Specialty clinics
    • Laboratory workers
    • Dental/ oral health clinics
    • Pharmacy staff not working in settings at higher tiers

    Emergency services (Fire, police, public safety)
