For the second year in a row, BVCHD’s Emergency Department has been awarded BETA’s ED Quest for Zero, tier 2. The Quest for Zero ED is a two-tier program. Tier 1 focuses on education, providing individual participants with insight into their personal knowledge and judgment in a high-risk disease category seen in the emergency department. Tier 2 offers a menu of options to help set priorities based on risk-related trends specific to Bear Valley Community Healthcare District.
This award is presented to Emergency Departments that meet education and quality improvement criteria to reduce errors in patient care. All BVCHD Emergency Department staff, took and passed a grueling cardiac exam, designed to improve care and outcomes for chest pain patients. Additionally, a Code Stroke policy and protocol was developed to decrease the transfer time to a Stroke Receiving hospital and to improve outcomes for stroke patients.
Congratulations BVCHD Emergency Department! We are proud of your efforts to improve patient care here in Big Bear Valley!Leave a reply →
